To guarantee any price quoted on this website, the booking must be made and paid for online via this website.

If a booking is made directly with the SAI MOT Centre, either by telephone or in person, prices may differ.

The price that you pay for a car service may vary by geographical location.

Discounts are subject to proof of membership/discount offer when dropping off your vehicle.

Any offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, discount or promotion.

Interim, Full and Major Services charges

  • An upgrade charge of £22 is applicable to vehicles requiring special or fully synthetic oils. If the 'Synthetic Oil Upgrade' product is not selected at the time of booking, the charge will be applied at the SAI MOT Centre.
  • A charge of £30 would be included for engine sizes identified at booking as being in excess of 2200cc. If the engine size has been wrongly identified, the SAI MOT Centre will charge the difference.

Combined Service and MOT packages are considered an offer as the price of the MOT/Service is reduced to give the package price so any other discounts cannot be used in conjunction with a combined Service and MOT package.

Any MOT discounted promotion is from the VOSA fee of £54.85. The customer is liable to pay the discounted price plus any other extra costs needed to pass the test due to MOT failure. The discount only applies to class 4 vehicles as determined by VOSA (see www.vosa.gov.uk) and excludes all other forms of transport including large vans, motorbikes, motor homes and three wheeled vehicles.

MOT Retest

If your vehicle fails an MOT test, then it must be repaired and retested prior to a valid certificate being issued, in accordance with VOSA guidelines:-

  • Where a vehicle fails the MOT and is left with the testing station to repair no retest fee is chargeable.
  • If the vehicle fails on a range of items detailed on the VOSA website (or available from the SAI MOT Centre) and is taken away to be repaired and returned by the end of the following working day a retest is required but no fee is chargeable.
  • If the vehicle is removed from the SAI MOT Centre and presented back within 10 working days then a retest needs be undertaken for which a fee is charged equal to half of the initial VOSA MOT test fee charged.
  • In all other cases a full MOT test is required and will be charged at the prevailing rate.
  • If your vehicle fails a retest then the vehicle will have to have a full MOT test when presented again.

If your vehicle fails the MOT test and you wish to appeal against it you should ask the MOT testing station for a VT17 form. If your appeal is successful the fee or part of it will be returned, but you should not have your vehicle repaired before the appeal is considered as any change may affect the outcome of the appeal.

We do not MOT motorbikes or three-wheeled vehicles in any SAI MOT Centre and can only MOT Class 7 vehicles in certain SAI MOT Centres.

Bookings, Cancellations and Refunds

Bookings

SAI MOT Centre has the right to cancel bookings or change any booking date.

When booking online the following lead times will apply:

  • MOT: you can book at any time up to a day before the work is required. In case of emergencies, you may directly drive in without a prior booking as well – we will try our best to arrange an MOT at the earliest.
  • Service: you can book at any time up to a day before the work is required.
  • Tyres: you can book at any time up to a day before the work is required. Ideally give us a call and make sure the tyres are available or an advance intimation is done for sourcing the tyres.
  • All other work bookable on the website: you can book at any time up to a day before the work is required.

Once you have successfully booked online you will receive a confirmation of your booking and payment on the screen. Once paid an email confirmation will be sent (If you have provided a valid email address).

You must take a printout or evidence of your payment when arriving for your booking to speed up administration.

An invoice will be supplied upon completion of the work. There may be additional costs to what you paid on line if additional work has been undertaken and this must be settled on the day/time of collection of the vehicle.

Booked work is valid for the vehicle booked only and cannot be transferred.

All bookings are subject to stock availability Where the product or service booked is not available we reserve the right to suggest alternative, suitable products as a substitute.

Cancellations and Amendments

If you need to amend your booking prior to arriving you may contact your centre up to 4 hours before your appointment to re-schedule.

To cancel a booking, you must firstly contact your selected SAI MOT Centre (email or phone call) to request a cancellation. Your cancellation must be received by 4 hours prior to your appointment slot and we regret that refunds can NOT be given after this time.

In completing the refund form you need to provide the following information:

  1. Your full name
  2. Email Address
  3. Booking reference
  4. Your chosen SAI MOT Centre
  5.  Contact Telephone number
  6. Refund Requests

Refund requests are processed centrally and they will take up to 5 working days to be processed.

Refunds must be refunded to the original payment card provided for the original transaction.

In the event that we are unable to complete your requested service/transaction then you will be entitled to a full refund.

Where we have provided alternate products or services that are of a lower value, part refunds will be granted for the difference.

Prices include VAT unless otherwise stated. E&OE.

Price Guarantee

You must have a printed comparison price/quote from a VAT registered garage located within a 3 mile radius of the specific SAI MOT Centre at which you had the work completed.

The written comparison must be for completion in the same timescale as agreed with the SAI MOT Centre for the same package of work as detailed on our total invoice.

Your claim must be made in writing to the SAI MOT Centre Manager and accompanied by a printed quote from the comparison garage dated within 7 days of your original invoice.

Any special offer or discount given must be shown in writing on the quote supplied. Our comparison will compare the total price for the job to be completed after all discounts, including parts and labour, not individual line items. Any comparison of goods or services must be to the identical specification and quality of the goods or services supplied by the specific SAI MOT Centre SAI MOT Centre. As our services usually include additional items compared to most competitors this means that services will be excluded from the price guarantee. Only one claim may be submitted with regard to each purchase and is eligible for our price guarantee.

Once we verify your claim, we will match the lower price and refund an additional 5% of the refunded amount as cash back, not of the total invoice.

SAI MOT Centre SAI MOT Centre reserves the right to modify or cancel this offer and the terms and conditions at any time in its sole discretion.

Offer DOES NOT APPLY TO the following:

  • Individual line items on an invoice
  • Services unless the items checked and changed are identical
  • Brake components covered by guarantee
  • Tyres and tyres fitting
  • Garages that are not VAT registered
  • Discounts not available to the general public, including but not limited to: membership (e.g. The AA), fleet, promotional, unpublished, employee or specially negotiated discounts.

Quality Guarantee

All parts supplied and fitted by SAI MOT Centre SAI MOT Centres are guaranteed for either 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever is sooner) whilst the car remains in ownership of the bill payer.

If a part we have fitted should fail it can be replaced/repaired at anyone of our SAI MOT Centres.

This guarantee only covers certain parts and labour. Excluded from this guarantee are any costs incurred due to the failure

Car Servicing Without Invalidating the Warranty

European Union legislation changed the way cars may be serviced and repaired and gives motorists a lot more freedom in their decision as to who should look after their cars. Motorists can use SAI MOT Centre SAI MOT Centre to service their cars without invalidating the manufacturer's warranty.

SAI MOT Centre SAI MOT Centres can carry out normal maintenance, servicing and repairs during a vehicle's warranty period without invalidating the vehicle assembler's warranty conditions with two provisos:

1. That the Service is carried out in accordance with the Vehicle Assembler's servicing schedules and is recorded as such.

SAI MOT Centre SAI MOT Centres when carrying out normal maintenance and repair services use systems to follow ICME schedules and customers can be assured that they are using vehicle assembler's schedules when specified.

2. That the parts used are either 'original spare parts' or 'matching quality parts' and are recorded as such.

All parts used by SAI MOT Centre SAI MOT Centres are manufactured to Original Equipment (OE) quality. All parts are guaranteed for a minimum 12 months or 12,000 miles (whichever is sooner).

Menu Servicing

SAI MOT Centre SAI MOT Centre menu service schedules normally exceed most manufacturers service schedules with up to 70+ checks and adjustments and includes the replacement of spark plugs* and the air filter element as well as changing the engine oil ** and oil filter.

High quality parts are used such as Castrol Magnatec lubricants and Champion spark plugs. We check and record wear and tear items using a colour code reporting system to give you peace of mind. Just compare our service schedules, additional service items can be quoted separately by contacting your local centre.

N.B. Servicing with SAI MOT Centre using our 'menu' services may not exactly match those of the manufacturers and we can, if requested, carry out the same service as specified by the manufacturer. If your vehicle is still under warranty please ask our SAI MOT Centre staff to provide you with a written quotation (which will be very competitive when compared to a dealer or other service provider) to carry out a manufacturers' specification service using OE equivalent or manufacturer parts in order to ensure we quote you for any different parts or services required to protect your warranty.

In any event we will always stamp your service book after completing any type of service schedule. In the absence of any written variation to a SAI MOT Centre SAI MOT Centre menu service schedule, our customers must satisfy themselves that the menu service or other service meets the requirements of their specific vehicle warranty requirements.

* Spark plugs will be replaced if applicable. An additional charge will be made should long life, platinum or multi-electrode plugs be required.

** An additional charge of £30 will be made for engine sizes in excess of 2200cc. There will be an upgrade charge of £22 per service for special or fully synthetic oils.

Manufacturer's Services

As a manufacturer service is specific to your vehicle, depending on its mileage, age and service history we cannot quote through the website. If you require a manufacturer service you must contact your local centre for a price, quoting the vehicle details and mileage etc and then book it in directly with them.
